The rate above is the mid-market rate, sometimes called the interbank rate. It is the midpoint between the buy and sell prices that banks use when they trade currency with each other. It is the only rate that exists without a hidden margin.
You will almost never receive this exact rate when you exchange currency. Banks, bureaux de change and money transfer providers all add a spread, typically 0.4% to 4%. The closer a provider's rate is to the mid-market, the better the deal.
If you actually need to convert 1,000 THB into GBP today, the practical questions are who pays closest to this rate and how quickly the money arrives. We benchmark eleven providers every morning. See today's leaderboard.
For the record, this rate is sourced from exchangerate.host, which aggregates ECB, BoT, and major commercial bank feeds. It updates hourly and was last refreshed at 14:32 BST.
